The following diets have been proven to work as well as keep your body healthy. Adding exercise into your diet routine will help your weight loss goal out tremendously as well.

South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet was created by cardiologist, Dr. Arthur Agatston, in order to help those who suffered from cardiac problems due to being overweight. This specific diet works in phases in order to adjust your body to a certain way of eating. Phase one of the diet includes foods such as eggs, nuts, vegetables, lean meats and low fat cheeses and yogurts. You can eat normal sized portions for each meal which means that you don't have to worry about feeling hungry and snacking down on unhealthy junk foods.

Phase two of the diet reintroduces foods such as whole grains and fruits. These are eaten in smaller portions since you want to keep the number of sugars and carbohydrates down to a minimum. Carbs break down into sugar which stores unhealthy fat in your body. By cutting back on carbs, your body is able to metabolize better to break down the fat in your body to help you lose weight. Remember to stay away from any processed foods since they are high in fat, carbohydrates and sodium.

Sonoma Diet

The Sonoma Diet uses a Mediterranean Theme to help you lose weight encouraging foods such as bell peppers, grapes, blueberries, spinach, almonds and more. This diet is constructed into three waves, each wave holding a certain significance to help you lose weight. The first wave is basically to help your body adjust to certain portions and types of foods while the second wave is where you initially start to lose weight. The third wave of the Sonoma diet is used to help you maintain your desired weight goal.

The Sonoma Diet is often found popular due to the tasty foods that you are allowed to eat as well as the fact that whole grain foods are allowed whereas the Atkins Diet and South Beach Diet require you to cut back on whole grain foods. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are what is most important in the Sonoma Diet in order to help you lose the weight you want and still feel healthy to boot.

Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet works much the same as the South Beach Diet which means that you are basically cutting back on your intake of carbohydrates. This is a good diet for someone who is diabetic and cannot intake a large amount of sugar. You start the diet by eating foods which are high in protein such as eggs, meat and cheese. Many people have reported losing up to 10lbs. or more within the first two weeks of the Atkins diet.

Throughout the different phases of the Atkins diet, you will be reintroduced to certain carbohydrates but not in excess. Once you reach your optimum weight, there is a maintenance plan for you to hold your weight without dropping or adding more pounds in order to keep you healthy and well balanced.
